One driver is in intensive care and a second driver has serious injuries from a late Wednesday night collision.

Fire Department Capt. Thomas Heaney said the head-on crash occurred at 11:45 p.m. at 167 Concord St., close to the Harmon Golf and Fitness Club entrance.

Heaney said the female driver of one vehicle is in South Shore Hospital’s intensive care unit with head and abdominal trauma, while the male driver of the other vehicle is also in South Shore Hospital with serious neck and back injuries.

He said firefighters had to extricate the male driver from his vehicle. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

Driver identification, vehicle models and details about the crash weren’t immediately available from Rockland police.
